“Sometimes later becomes never”

24×36 Inch Acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas - Premium Alder floating frame

This piece began as a meditation on the quiet way we abandon ourselves & our dreams. Not dramatically. Not all at once. But slowly, through every dream deferred, every risk avoided, every moment we chose comfort over calling.

The painting lives in a surreal dreamscape at night. A world where the logic of sleep and the weight of real life collide. Birds carry impossible burdens, stuck between two windows of warm light. As children, windows were portals to another world. You’d press your face to the glass and see everything waiting for you - adventure, possibility, a world of imagination that felt infinite. Somewhere a long the way that changed. The window stopped being a magic portal you looked through. As an adult the windows just look back at you. On the inside, waiting, while life happens beyond the glass.
